April 27, 2026, marked the latest Bopalooza at Saint Francis.
The annual performance is hosted by Bo Moore, who teaches guitar lessons at SFU. Moore’s beginner, intermediate and advanced guitar students perform at the event.
Along with the setlist performed by the beginner group, the intermediate and advanced guitarists performed solos and several played a duet with their professor.
“I got the experience and practice that I needed to really learn the guitar,” said sophomore performer, Connor Sanders. “It was really cool learning to play with the other students in class.”
Sanders was among nine other beginner-level students that performed during the show.
“I want to get better,” said Sanders. “This class definitely made me want to get better.”
Moore has helped create a community around music and guitar at the University. Many students continue playing guitar after the class is over and some continue on with Moore through one-on-one sessions.
“I believe the best part of these shows is the variety and different styles of music being played,” said Moore. “I love the fact that you get all of the families and friends showing up to experience this music.
“Every semester is different. I am always pleasantly surprised with the students in the [beginner] class.
“Some don’t show much interest in the beginning, but once they start to figure it out, they start to get serious about it.”
