The men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Colonial Relays at William and Mary, March 31-April 2.

“I was really happy with how the meet went,” said Julian Saunders, a freshman sprinter from Boyertown, Pennsylvania. “It was a great experience and good to see that hard work pays off.”

Saunders finished 19th out of 66 competitors in the 100-meter dash in 10.99.

Sophomore Ardonntrell Williams was the top male performer for SFU at the meet. He won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.19.

On the women’s side, SFU performers captured first-place in the triple jump (Madeline Murphy – 12.37 meters), pole vault (Marlena Jacobs – 3.55 meters) and 4×100 meter relay (Mylan Crews, Jalurah Moore, Maria Ferraro and Aaliyah Vandergrift – 46.96).

Murphy’s mark in the triple jump broke her own school record in that event.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to action this weekend, competing at the George Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
