Tyler Cheslock, a senior captain and cornerstone of the SFU Madden Team, will graduate from SFU next month.
His Esports career at the University has been defined by leadership, consistency and impact both in and out of competition.
Cheslock has played a key role in shaping the team’s identity during his time at Saint Francis, serving as a steady presence and trusted leader.
“Tyler was always there with jokes and good vibes. He was a joy to be around,” said junior Ben Dodson, one of Cheslock’s teammates.
As captain of the Madden Team, Cheslock helped guide his teammates through competitive seasons while fostering a culture built on accountability, preparation and energy.
Beyond his performance on the sticks, Cheslock’s influence extended to team chemistry. Teammates often looked to him for direction in high-pressure moments.
His ability to stay composed helped elevate the group’s overall performance. His leadership style emphasized teamwork and confidence, qualities that became central to the program’s growth.
“Tyler’s has made me better as a teammate and a player,” said freshman Rhyse Hamp. “He always pushes me and believes in us as a team.”
Cheslock’s departure leaves behind a significant void, as the team now faces the challenge of replacing not only his skill, but also his leadership.
As the Saint Francis Madden team looks ahead to next season, Cheslock’s legacy will remain a benchmark for future players to strive to uphold.
