University Co-Sponsoring Virtual Job Fair

Saint Francis will partner with Mount Aloysius, UPJ, Penn Highlands Community College and the Southcentral Pennsylvania Health Education Center on March 23 to host a Virtual Job Fair.

The event is open to students of all majors through an application called Career Fair Plus and it will run from noon to 5 p.m. on March 23.

The fair will provide students the opportunity to connect with potential employers through video conferencing and voice calls. Due to the virtual format, a wider range of employers will be in attendance at the event than in years past.

“We are working on having as many employers as possible,” said Becky Cacciotti, SFU’s Career Services Coordinator.

“Currently, we have 25 (employers) registered for the fair, with the hope to have about 50.”

Students who attended this event in the past are excited about this year’s virtual format.

“Having attended the fair in previous years at Stokes, this online format will be super-interesting,” said Julia Bradford, an Exercise Physiology major.

“I think it will open up some more opportunities that we haven’t had in previous years.”

Cacciotti reminds students who intend to participate to be well-prepared.

“You can research the companies, and you’re going to want to be able to have your room all set up with lighting,” she said.

The fair will be conducted on Career Fair Plus, an application that creates an intuitive, user-friendly experience for participants. The app must be downloaded before the event. Appointments can be reserved beginning March 9 once a student has registered.

“We encourage all students to attend. It’s a great opportunity to talk to employers,” said Cacciotti.
