Student-Athlete Networking Event Scheduled for Sunday

The Athletics Department will host its second annual Student-Athlete Networking Event on Sunday.

This event is open to all student-athletes, with juniors and seniors strongly encouraged to attend.

“We want to create more career development opportunities for our student-athletes,” said Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete and Leadership Development John Krimmel.

The Athletics Department is partnering with the Office of Career Services and the Office of Alumni Engagement to host this event.

“It seems like a great opportunity to make connections with professionals in fields that I’m interested in,” said junior football player Kei-Shon Graham. “Every connection is a great connection.”

Krimmel said that the event will focus on participants’ individual interests.

“One thing different about us is that we try to tailor the event to the interest of the student. Right off the bat, we ask what their interests are.”

The event will take place from 11 a.m.-noon on Sunday in the Stokes-Twyman Room, prior to a women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader.

“I’m looking forward to who I can connect with and hearing about the different professions that are represented,” said Graham.
