Student-Athlete Mentors to Host De-Stress Fest
SFU’s Student-Athlete Mentors (SAMs) will host their annual “De-Stress Fest” next week (April 24-28).
De-Stress Fest is held each semester during the last full week of classes. The event is free and open to all students, faculty and staff.
On each day of the week, SFU’s SAMs come up with different events to help students relax as they prepare for finals.
All Monday through Thursday events will take place in front of Padua Hall between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
On April 24 (Monday), lemonade will be provided.
On April 25 (Tuesday), cookies will be available and participants can have their picture taken with recently crowned “Mr. SFU” Bryce Baker.
“I’m excited about the event and hopefully it can help people to destress and brighten their day,” said Baker, a Harrisburg native and junior on the track and field team.
On April 26 (Wednesday), iced coffee will be served.
On April 27 (Thursday), free stress balls and ice cream bars will be available.
On April 28 (Friday) at 8 p.m., a volleyball tournament will be held in DeGol Arena. Friday’s event will be sponsored by the University’s APPLE Leadership Team.
The winning team will receive a trophy and 3,000 Frankie Cup points.
“We are hoping to bring a little bit of fun, relaxation and stress relief to the students that stop by,” said Shannon Corbett, Associate Director for Student-Athlete Development and Academic Services.
