SFU students share their Christmas favorites

With the holidays around the corner, Saint Francis students have Christmas on the brain. How, in the midst of projects and finals, can students keep the Christmas spirit alive? Over the next few weeks, students will likely turn to their favorite Christmas movies and songs to kindle yuletide feelings. And snow on our mountain will invoke Christmassy vibes.

After polling 50 students on their favorite Christmas movies, 19 of them said they will be watching “Elf” in the next few weeks. This lines up with a recent survey conducted by “Insider,” which says that Pennsylvania’s favorite Christmas movie is “Elf.” Seven students said “The Grinch” is their favorite movie. Five students will turn to “Christmas Vacation” for laughs. Both “A Christmas Story” and “White Christmas” received three votes for the best holiday film. “It’s a Wonderful Life” had two fans.

What songs will you hear as you pass others on the mall? Twenty-one students will be listening to “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Seven students said “White Christmas” is their favorite. A blog post by “Decluttr” mirrors these sentiments – these two songs are considered America’s favorite Christmas songs. Four SFU students will be blasting “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber. “O, Holy Night” will be playing through three sets of headphones. Three listeners will have “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” fueling their Christmas spirit.

Who among our SFU family is hoping for snow this December?
Forty-three SFU students are dreaming of a white Christmas,
while seven could do without Mother Nature’s frozen flurries.
