Family Weekend is scheduled for Sept. 25-27, and the weekend has something for everyone, from an ice cream sundae bar for kids, a magic show for students, coffee for parents, and bingo for the whole family.

Varsity sporting events include the men’s soccer team hosting St. Bonaventure on Friday at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the football team hosts the University of Faith at 1 p.m. and women’s volleyball takes on Robert Morris at the Stokes Center at 7 p.m.

There will also be various sports activities for families to participate in, including the Wiffle Ball Homerun Derby on the campus mall. This event is a fundraiser for the Western Pennsylvania Special Olympics and is sponsored by the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.

The Phi Lambda Psi Sorority will host its annual Autism Walk and Bake sale on the campus mall on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to Phi Lambda Psi’s Philanthropy Chair, Kathryn Buonantony, this event raises money for Dreams Go On, a therapeutic horseback riding foundation in Hollidaysburg that helps children with autism.

“We will have a raffle and prizes to win and a fun scavenger hunt that will raise awareness about autism. People can register to walk, or can even sponsor someone who walks.”

The event will also include carnival games, make-your-own sand art, cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn.
