The sisters of Phi Delta Kappa Sorority raised more than $1,500 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation at their fourth annual Wish-Upon-a-Par Golf Tournament.

The event was held Sept. 15 at Immergrun Golf Club.

Jen Schmith, community service chair of Phi Delta Kappa, was very pleased with the turnout for the event and the amount of money raised for Make-a-Wish.

“We’re just really happy to be a part in what the Make-A-Wish Foundation does,” Schmith said.

“Team Ashley,” which included A.J. Marasco, Marty Marasco and Jim Carrieri, finished first for the win.

The sorority presented gift cards to the first and second-place winners. Those in third place received raffle tickets. There were also plenty of raffle prizes, snacks and T-shirts available for purchase for participants and spectators.

Sheetz and Arby’s donated to the event and helped to ensure its success.

“Getting to play a small role in helping kids’ dreams come true is very rewarding,” Schmith said.
