Phi Lambda Psi Hosts Autism Walk

The Phi Lambda Psi Sorority held its annual autism awareness walk on campus during Parents Weekend activities.

The event, conducted on Sept. 26, is a fundraising venture for “Dreams Go On,” a horseback-riding therapy organization in Hollidaysburg that specializes in helping autistic patients.

Dreams Go On affords an opportunity to both adults and children to participate in therapeutic horseback riding session. Instructors with specific certifications volunteer their time to teach responsibility, trust, rules, patience, compassion, self-confidence, teamwork and safety.

Kathryn Buonantony was the organizer of this year’s walk. She and 22 of her sorority sisters were on hand for Saturday’s event, which included sand art, dart throwing and concessions such as popcorn, snow cones and baked goods.
