The swim team dives into its new season on Oct. 5 with an intrasquad meet at the Stokes Natatorium.
The team will be split into black and red squads and compete against each other to assess their progress ahead of the first official meet of the season.
The season-opening meet is the Colgate Invitational on Oct. 11-12 in Hamilton, New York.
“We’ve worked really hard for the last month,” said head coach Phil Hurley. “I’m excited for the season, especially with the addition of seven freshmen who’ve already made a great impact.”
The team will compete in Loretto twice during the 2024-25 season on Oct. 19 (vs. Millersville) and Nov. 2 (vs. Niagara).
The team will honor its senior swimmers prior to the meet against Millersville on Oct. 19.
Last season, the swim team placed second at the Northeast Conference Championship
behind Central Connecticut State.
Four SFU relay teams broke into the top 10 fastest times in program history at last season’s conference finals.
“The energy on the team is great,” said senior Amalia Bradburn. “We’ve been pushing ourselves, and I think we’re ready to show that in the water.”
Freshman Katie Webster, one of the seven newcomers, echoed that sentiment.
“We’re all working together to achieve big things this season.”
