Command Sgt. Major Joseph Keirn delivered a tour of the Keirn Family World War II Museum to students and faculty on Oct. 22.
The museum is located on the second floor of the library. In 2014, Keirn donated his collection of memorabilia to SFU.
Last month’s tour was recorded by students in the Communications Program. The recording will be available for future visitors to view at the museum.
“It was so cool to see how many stories he had for the artifacts in the museum,” said senior Communications major Marianne Labelle, who assisted in recording the tour.
The video that the students are producing will be shown in a campus viewing on Veterans Day.
Communications Instructor Matt Hankinson led the efforts in organizing the recording of the tour.
“I think it is an excellent way for the students to help Sgt. Major Keirn preserve his stories,” said Hankinson.
“This project serves as a way for people to hear and gain knowledge from him for many years to come.”
