Eighteen SFU students will travel to London over the upcoming spring break.
The Shields School of Business (SSOB) offers this trip annually. It is open to students of all majors.
The group will leave Loretto on Feb. 26.
Randy Frye, Dean of the SSOB, has made every trip since the tradition began 17 years ago. He said he is looking forward to this year’s trip across the pond.
“There are so many things that are interesting to me,” he said. “I like it all.”
Frye enjoys visiting London with students who have never been there before.
“I like showing the students a new city,” he said.
Sadie Davison, a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration, wants to experience European culture. She is looking forward to a day trip to Paris.
“It will be cool to see two new places in one trip,” she said. “I’m excited for all of it.
“I’m excited to see the cathedrals and churches.”
Jen Spacht, a sophomore double majoring in Spanish and Elementary Education, has never traveled outside of the United States.
“I’m very nervous to leave the country by plane,” she said.
Spacht is looking forward to learning about London’s culture.
“I’m excited to try the famous fish and chips,” she said.
Frye said that the trip provides students with a special educational opportunity.
“London has become a signature trip for the SSOB,” he said. “It’s a bustling city.”
In addition to Frye, SFU Emeritus Accounting Professor Jim Logue and Business Administration Instructor Fr. Jason Wooleyhan will also be traveling with the students to London.
The group will return to campus on March 7.
