The bowling team hosted the Red Flash Invitational on Jan. 26-28 at Holiday Bowl in Altoona, finishing fifth in a 10-team field with a 5-5 overall mark.
Saint Francis enjoyed a solid opening day at the tournament, defeating Pitt-Bradford and Penn State-Altoona and dropping close matches to Duquesne, Morgan State and Valparaiso.
Senior Marissa Metcalfe played a pivotal role in the opening-day action, rolling eight strikes to help secure the win over Pitt-Bradford.
Senior Samantha Timm believes her team is well-positioned heading into the remainder of the 2024 schedule.
“We prepared well for this tournament,” said the Flint, Michigan native. “This is a testament to our hard work and preparation.”
Metcalfe was named to the all-tournament team at last weekend’s home meet. It marked the first all-tournament recognition for a Red Flash bowler this season.
The Flash return to action next weekend when the team competes at the Mount Saint Mary’s Shootout, Feb. 9-11.
