The SGA meeting on Sept. 24 marked the first meeting for four new senators.
Included in this rookie group of senators are three from the Class of 2030 and one from the Class of 2027.
The class of 2030 trio includes Thomas Corcoran, Hailey Farabaugh and Madeline Healy.
Brayden Gall of the Class of 2027 is the new SGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative.
In other news from last week’s meeting, Sen. Jelana Boldizar proposed an amendment to the SGA Constitution to add a social justice chair.
The social justice chair is a non-Senate position, similar to the public relations chair. The person in this role will monitor diversity concerns around campus, among other responsibilities.
Boldizar’s proposal was passed unanimously.
Student Activities Director Kristen Corcoran delivered several announcements to the Senate at last Thursday’s meeting.
“I would like to thank our Executive Vice President Abrielle Brown for her help with the gear store event,” said Corcoran, “which included her having to climb up onto a ladder to reveal the new name of the store.”
Sen. Gavin Ross told attendees that he is working on improving marketing for the School of STEAM. He said that a QR code is currently being developed as a way for students to share stories about the things they are doing within the School.
“The School of STEAM is thriving,” said Ross.
