November marks the 75th anniversary for the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity at Saint Francis. In celebration of this anniversary, the fraternity conducted a homemade cannoli sale and basket raffle on Nov. 8, with all proceeds supporting cancer research.
This National Italian Heritage fraternity is the oldest fraternity on campus.
“Seventy-five years serves as a reminder of the impact Alpha Phi Delta has had on students,” said Joey Nguyen, the fraternity’s vice president.
The bake sale and basket raffle earlier this month was well-attended and described as a success by fraternity members.
The brothers of APD said that they appreciate the support of SFU’s Student Activities Organization, which sponsored the event.
“It’s a win-win situation,” said Ethan Schriver, Alpha Phi Delta’s philanthropy chair. “We’re helping raise money for a good cause while also celebrating a huge milestone.”
For generations of alumni, the anniversary is more than just a milestone. It’s about the friendships and experiences that have stayed with them long after graduation.
“Alpha Phi Delta gave me lifelong brothers that have shaped the values I carry with me today,” said Michael Flott, a 1974 SFU graduate and Alpha Phi Delta member.
