Both the men’s and women’s golf teams will compete in the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown on Oct. 7-8.
Other teams competing in the tournament include West Virginia, Cleveland State and Duquesne.
The 36-hole event is SFU’s only home competition of the fall season.
“I’m excited to play close to home and see some family and friends come out to the tournament,” said sophomore Derry native Hunter Jurica.
“I feel like most people don’t really know a lot about the golf teams on campus,” said sophomore Camille Gagnon, “and I feel like this tournament will be a good way to showcase that.”
For Sydney Clements, success means taking it one swing at a time.
“My mindset going into the tournament is to focus on every shot individually, instead of focusing on the bigger score,” said the senior from East Sparta, Ohio.
“I think this is going to be a great experience for everyone on the team and I’m excited to compete.”
