The cheer and dance team highlighted its talent at the College Classic in Orlando earlier this month, marking the team’s inaugural appearance at a national competition.
During the competition, the team focused on improving its timing, recognizing the importance of synchronization in routines.

Scores from the first day were used for placement in the finals. The team made significant adjustments for its next performances, which paid off. Their pom routine scored 78.58, narrowing the gap with the fifth-place team.
In the jazz competition, the team earned its best score of the weekend, 79.54.
Frankie the mascot also competed in his first solo competition in Orlando.
Overall, the team expressed pride in its performance and appreciated the support of SFU fans at the competition. Team members are now looking ahead to future competitions, aiming to build on this experience and achieve greater success.
“We are proud of what we brought to the floor this first time at nationals,” said head coach John Anderson.
Anderson said the experience was invaluable and will serve as motivation for the team to improve and refine its skills for future competitions.
