Morehead Joins Football Staff
Zach Morehead has joined the football program as its tight ends coach.
“I’m very excited to be a part of the Saint Francis staff and grateful for the opportunity to coach young men at this level,” said Morehead. “I hope to bring knowledge and wisdom to help mentor and develop these young men into better players, and most importantly, better people.”
Morehead spent the last three years as an assistant at Gannon University. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017, where he played along the Vulcans’ offensive line. During his senior season in 2016, he served as captain of his team. California-Pa. was an NCAA Division II playoff participant that year and captured the championship of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Red Flash returning starting quarterback Jason Brown believes that Morehead will make the offense better.
“I think he will really be beneficial to us,” said Brown. “With him having played tackle in his playing days, I think it will be good for the guys, as he teaches them how to fit their blocks.”
Defensive coordinator Bishop Neal is also excited to work with his new colleague.
“Coach Morehead is a great addition to our staff,” said Neal. “He brings with him a lot of knowledge and passion, and he will educate our players, both on and off of the field.”
