The men’s and women’s cross-country teams will be racing against some of the top runners in the region at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Finals in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Friday.

Two weeks ago, the women’s team placed third at the NEC Championships and the men finished fourth.

There will be more than 20 teams at the start line at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, all whom have qualified by placing in the top three at their conference meet or reaching an automatic qualifying time.

Lehigh University is the host school for regionals and the team expects some fast times and personal records.

“Lehigh is a very fast course, so it will make PRs very attainable,” said sophomore Brenden Miller.

The men will be running an eight-kilometer race at Lehigh and the women’s race covers a six-kilometer course.

“Regionals is a lot more competitive than NECs,” said junior Madison Wright. “There will be big-name schools such as Penn State, Villanova and Princeton.

“We have two more meets left, so we are hoping to finish the season strong.”
