SFU’s annual Invest-in-Success event will be held Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. in 106 Schwab Hall.

Based on the popular ABC television show “Shark Tank,” SFU’s ENACTUS team is looking for young entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a panel of SFU judges. 

The winner will be awarded up to $2,000 to support his or her idea.

“One person will win $2,000, or maybe they will divide it,” said Nicole Bauman, Associate Director of the Graduate School of Business and Human Resource Management and organizer of the event.

The competition is open to all SFU students. Students can present individually or as a team.        

Participation in the contest requires students to complete an application form that will be sent to Bauman and reviewed by judges. 

The top four ideas will be presented during the Oct. 25 competition. The deadline to complete an application is Oct. 4.

“I like any opportunity I have to present in front of an audience,” said Ryan Alu, who won $1,000 last year and plans to apply for the competition again this year. “I have a lot of ideas.”

Alu’s idea last year was one that related to recording statistics for volleyball. He is a member of the Red Flash volleyball team.

The competition was first launched in 2012. It is funded through the Dr. Albert A. Zanzuccki Endowed Chair in Business Administration Program.
