School of Business to welcome students to campus for Business Day

Area high school students will be provided an inside look at the business world when the University hosts Business Day on March 24 at the JFK Student Center.

Activities will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Throughout the day, students from visiting schools will compete against each other in games that will teach them about the various fields of business.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and is followed by opening remarks from faculty in the Shields School of Business.

“It’s an opportunity for students to meet other students from local high schools and expand their knowledge in business education,” said SFU student Kurt Roberts.

Business Day originated as an Honors Program led by former student Jared Stango. SFU’s chapter of Enactus is organizing next month’s event.

Activities scheduled for the day include “Marketing in a Minute,” a Business Ethics event and a Business Fashion Show. Schools that perform well in these events will advance to the “Business Bowl” with the first- and second-place teams winning prizes.

Students at schools who did not sign up for the competitions will have the opportunity to participate in professional sessions coordinated by faculty members in the School of Business.
