SFU International Students Plan for Spring Break

The Office of International Student Programs is busy making arrangements for international students in anticipation of the university’s mid-term break from Feb. 25 to March 5.

Students who are travelling outside of the United States are required to provide the ISP Office information regarding their destinations and travel dates.  They also need to complete a travel endorsement request.

For students who are travelling within the United States, travel dates and destinations must be provided.

Students who intend to stay on campus will have meals available in Torvian Dining Hall.  Access to the residence halls is also available and some activities are planned.

“We are going to have some events for the students that will be on campus for mid-term break. Those events are not required to go to, but some students might be interested,” said Ryan Geiger, assistant director of international student programs.

“We also provide (each student) $20 each day at Missy’s Village Pizza the last couple days of the break.”

“I have been staying on campus for a couple years during mid-term break now. Might as well just do it again this year,” said student Tongyao Hu. “I don’t really have extra money to go anywhere.”

Others are going to get away for the break.

“I am planning on going to Los Angeles to meet with my friends up there for the break,” said student Guangxi Huang. “Might as well just stay there the whole break since it’s a seven-hour flight.”
