JFK Auditorium was buzzing on Sept. 27 as the SFU Greek community held its Fall Bid Day ceremony.

Greek membership at the University rose by 10 to 15 more members than last year. This can be attributed to aggressive recruitment by Greek leaders and more interest by the student body.

“The influx in Greek participation is seen throughout campus, mostly through the pride,” said Alpha Phi Delta brother Zach Lahart. “I now see more students wearing letters than ever before.”

The University’s recent dip in enrollment has not seemed to adversely affect interest in SFU Greek life.

“It’s unfortunate that the men on campus that would be potentially interested in Greek Life that is arriving is shrinking,” said Assistant Director of Student Engagement Luke Trotz.

Greek Life leaders said they will continue to work harder in recruiting and increase their involvement on campus.  They said they have seen a rise in attendance at Greek events by first-year students.
