The men’s and women’s spring golf seasons are underway.
The women’s team competed in its first tournament of the year in Gainesville, Florida, over spring break. Freshman Robbin Zetrouer finished in 12th place individually at this event with a 231. The freshman from South Carolina shot a 79, 77, and 75 over the two-day event.
The men’s team will play its first tournament of the spring at the Carpetbagger Classic in Urbana, Maryland, this weekend (March 21-22).
Senior Toby Webb will lead the men’s team into the spring season. He is the lone senior on this year’s men’s squad.
Other tournaments for the men’s team this spring include competitions at Columbia, West Virginia, Penn State-Altoona, Miami-Ohio and the NEC Championship in Maryland.
“Our goal is to make every practice, every round and every moment count as we finish this chapter (of Division I) the right way,” said men’s golf coach Jonathan Kulas.
The women’s team’s spring tournaments are at Northern Kentucky, in Bermuda, and at Rutgers before the NEC Championship.
“This team is very close – they care for each other and for this University,” said women’s
head coach Chris Cascino.
