The men’s basketball team lost to New Haven, 81-69, on Jan 31 at the Stokes Center.
Ahmad Harrison led the Flash with 16 points and a season-high six rebounds. Zion Russell added 15 points and a season-high four steals.
The NEC’s second-leading scorer, Skylar Wicks, had 12 points and seven rebounds. Gestin Liberis added nine points, six rebounds and five assists for Saint Francis (6-15, 4-4 NEC).
Kheni Briggs led the Chargers with a season-high 29 points. He hit five three-pointers. New Haven shot 50 percent (10-for-20) from three-point range, while the Red Flash shot 33 percent (7-for-21) from outside the arc. The Chargers (10-12, 5-4 NEC) lead the conference in three-point shooting.
“We fell in the trap of taking the first easy shot we got, and the shots weren’t falling,” said SFU head coach Luke McConnell.
Saint Francis will begin a four-game road trip at Mercyhurst on Feb. 5. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on NEC FrontRow.
