The men’s basketball team lost at No. 23 Florida, 102-61, on Dec. 17.
Skylar Wicks led the Red Flash with a game-high 22 points, posting consecutive 20-point games for the first time since 2023. Wicks scored six of his 22 points during a 9-4 SFU run in the first half.
He shot nine-for-22 from the field and connected on two-of-six three-point attempts. As a team, SFU was 43-for-16 from three-point range (19 percent). The Gators (7-4) knocked down 10 three-pointers and shot 37 percent (10-for-27) from outside the arc.
Senior Zion Russell added 10 points and led SFU in rebounds with five. Xavian Lee led Florida with 18 points, converting on seven of his nine shots from the field. The Gators dominated the glass, outrebounding the Flash, 44-19. Florida scored 42 bench points in the win.
SFU freshman Paris Papadatos scored nine points and made four of eight shots from the floor, including a three-pointer. Sophomore Ralph Martino Jr. added seven points for Saint Francis (2-10), including a highlight reel slam dunk on a fastbreak in the first half.
The Red Flash will host western Pennsylvania rival Robert Morris on Dec. 20 in its last non-conference game of the season. Tip-off against the Colonials is at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on NEC FrontRow.
