After a season-opening loss at Oklahoma on Nov. 3, the men’s basketball team traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to face TCU on Nov. 6 and dropped a 104-63 decision.
The Horned Frogs came out hot from the field and closed the first half on a 42-18 run to lead, 53-29, at halftime. Head coach Jamie Dixon’s team didn’t take its foot off the gas in the second half in the 41-point victory.
TCU shot 52 percent from the field (34 for 65) and knocked down 12 three-pointers in the win. The Horned Frogs outrebounded the Flash, 48-22.
SFU’s Skylar Wicks had another strong performance with 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Wicks scored 20 points in the season-opener at Oklahoma.
FDU transfer Cam Tweedy had a career-high 14 points for the Flash. Senior KJ Swain scored six points, the most in his career against a Division I team.
Zion Russell added six points and a block for SFU (0-2).
Saint Francis hosts Mount Saint Mary’s in its home-opener on Veterans Day (Nov. 11). The teams will play at 7 p.m. in a “Salute-to-Service” game.
All veterans will receive free admission.
