A group of students have started a Music Discussion Club at the University.
Junior Jacob Graessle came up with the idea to launch the club.
“It’s an opportunity to bring different people together on this campus, listen to different types of music, and hear things we haven’t heard before,” said Graessle.
The club meets every Friday at 4 p.m. to discuss a member-nominated album.
“We’ll sit down and discuss what we liked about [an album] and what we didn’t like,” said Graessle. “Just a pretty laid-back general discussion.”
Graessle hopes that the group will serve as a place where people can come and speak their minds about all things music.
“It’s really nice having a consistent group to put you on to some new underground music and just hang out with,” said club member Ian Torrey.
“It’s our first semester, so we’re trying to build it up and hopefully become officially recognized by spring semester,” said Graessle.
