Six members of the Shields School of Business’ CEO Club and SSOB Dean Randy Frye attended the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization’s 40th annual Global Conference and Pitch Competition in Tampa, Nov. 2-4.
The group attended presentations delivered by famous entrepreneurs and subject matter experts who shared valuable insight on various business-related topics.
One of the primary objectives of the annual conference is to challenge college students to think about entrepreneurial opportunities and grow in their overall understanding of business.
Session topics at the conference varied widely. The first day’s sessions included a deep dive into chapter development. On the last day, the top 10 global finalists in an international competition for start-up money pitched their ideas.
“This trip impacted me in such a positive way – not just by bringing me closer to my other club members/classmates – but also by teaching me how to improve the club’s membership and social media presence,” said Arianna Keller, a senior double majoring in Marketing and Management.
“It helped me build connections for my future.”
There were over 65 entrepreneurs and subject matter experts at the conference and the SFU group had the opportunity to interact directly with many of them.
Over 250 colleges were represented at the event.
“While we learned valuable information about club expansion, my biggest takeaway is that the CEO Club can target non-business majors, said Elena Pontzius, a Business Analytics major.
