The men’s soccer team posted its second straight victory on Sept. 17 in a 2-1 home win over Longwood.

The Red Flash have now scored six goals in their last two games. On Sept. 14, SFU scored a season-high four goals in a 4-1 victory at Bucknell.

Tobi Joseph and Nico Stoddart scored the goals in the team’s win over Longwood last weekend.

“I think we played very well,” said Joseph, a senior Management major. “We were challenged with them getting a goal back in the last few minutes, but we held on.

“The main priority is to continue our winning form going into conference play.”

Stoddart scored three goals last week, netting two at Bucknell and adding another against Longwood.

Freshman goalkeeper Jordaine Jaeger made four saves in the 2-1 win versus the Lancers.

“Winning is a habit and it is always good to continue the momentum,” said fifth-year head coach Frank Olszewski. “The main priority is that the team continues to work hard and takes the lessons from each game forward.”

SFU played at Robert Morris on Sept. 21 and will open Northeast Conference action at Merrimack on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m.
