Environmental Action Society Hosting Photo Contest

Environmental+Action+Society+Hosting+Photo+Contest

The SFU Environmental Action Society is accepting submissions for its annual nature photo contest. In this contest, participants take photographs of various natural wonders around campus. These can include, but are not limited to, landscapes, non-domestic wildlife, trees and plants, and creatures of all sorts.

The theme for this year’s contest is “Renewal through Nature.” Biology Professor Lane Loya, who helps organize the nature photo contest each year, said he hopes this fall’s competition will inspire “hope for the future through the beauty of nature.”

Contests winners will be selected by members of the Environmental Action Society and winning photos will be displayed in a calendar that will be available for purchase following the competition.

The first-place winner receives a $25 Sheetz gift card, second-place receives a $10 card, and third-place receives a free copy of the calendar. Nine additional honorable-mention selections, plus the top three place-winners, will have their photos featured in the calendar.

Submissions must be submitted by Oct. 21 by midnight, and only two entries per person will be accepted. All entries should be sent to Julia Chmielowiec.
