The DeGol Arena in the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center underwent renovations this past summer and has a new look entering the 2019-20 academic year.

According to A.J. Anderson, Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations, the cost of the renovations was around $1 million.

This included the arena’s multipurpose floor and completion of the bleachers project. Phase one of the bleachers project was completed in the summer of 2018 and the second phase – replacing the former “red seats” – was finished this year.

The renovation of the floor began in May and was completed in August.

“The colors (on the floor) are very vivid,” said Makenzie Pollard, a sophomore on the women’s basketball team.
