Senior women’s basketball player Jess Kovatch has earned the Northeast Conference’s 2018-19 Player-of-the-Year award.

Kovatch earns NEC Player-of-the-Year honors for the second consecutive season. She becomes just the fourth player in league history to capture the award in back-to-back years.

The all-time leading scorer and three-point shooter in NEC men’s or women’s basketball history, Kovatch is averaging a league-best 21.2 points per game. She is the active career leading scorer in Division I with 2,795 points and ranks second all-time in NCAA women’s basketball history with 461 three-pointers.

Kovatch’s teammate, sophomore Haley Thomas, was named to the All-NEC Third Team.

Thomas is averaging 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She has the league’s second-best free throw shooting percentage at 85.7 percent.
