Men’s volleyball player Hayden Herc has been selected to represent Saint Francis on the Loretto Borough Council.

The Borough Council is responsible for providing services to area residents.

“We are excited about the opportunity for Hayden, not only to represent SFU Athletics, but also the entire University on the Loretto Borough Council,” said John Krimmel, Associate Director of Student-Athlete Leadership Development.

“This is a unique opportunity for any student and we know Hayden will represent us well.”

A senior from Eden, New York, Herc majors in History and Social Studies Education, with minors in Global Community and Political Science.

‘’I am very excited to represent our school at the council,” Herc said. “I believe I can establish a great relationship with the council that can lead to great things in the future.”

This position was created as a part of an NCAA CHOICES Grant that the school received. The grant provides funding for NCAA-member institutions and conferences to integrate athletics departments into campus-wide efforts to reduce alcohol abuse.

SFU is one of 15 schools selected for the grant and one of seven Division I schools that will be receiving $30,000 from the NCAA over the next three years.
