What do a wing-off, a carnival and SubZero ice cream all have in common?

They’re all part of Saint Francis’ 2016 Spring Fest!

The event is scheduled for April 20-23. SFU’s Student Activities Organization (SAO) has a wide variety of events scheduled to pique any student’s interests.

The event kicks off Wednesday, April 20, with a V Games and oxygen bar provided by TJohnE. Come and experience your favorite video games genres, such as sports, dance, music and shooting games, on screens up to 27 inches in the JFK Lounge from 9-11 p.m.

Phi Kappa Theta fraternity will co-sponsor a wing-off/bake-off in JFK Lounge from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday. Following the announcement of the winner, Theta will host a ping pong tournament in JFK Lounge.

SAO President and Spring Fest chair Kayli Gallen is excited about the carnival scheduled for Saturday, April 23.

“I think this will be a great opportunity for everyone to get together one last time before finals and the end of the semester,” said Gallen.

The carnival will feature various games, delicious food and a zip line. The event will run from noon-4 p.m. on the campus mall.

PROUD (People Respecting Others’ Unique Differences) will co-host a Hawaiian Luau with SAO on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. in JFK.

Glow-in-the-dark bowling, skee ball, and mini golf will take place in the Stokes Auxiliary Gym from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. on Saturday into early Sunday. SubZero ice cream will be on campus, distributing free ice cream during the event.

Last year’s Spring Fest chair, Shelbie Jamison, said it takes a lot of time and effort to plan the weekend.

“It’s always rewarding in the end and I had a blast chairing Spring Fest last year,” said Jamison. “I’m excited to see what Kayli has in store for us this year.”
