SAO Hosts Bongo Ball and Bubble Soccer Event

The Student Activities Organization (SAO) hosted a Bongo Ball and Bubble Soccer event Saturday in the Stokes Center’s Auxiliary Gym.

Participants shot each other with potato guns and foam balls on one side of the gym.  On the other side, participants played soccer from inside inflatable bubbles. Each game featured two teams of four people.

“Although my body feels like it’s been run over by a thousand horses, I still had a great time,” said Irene Grysiak.

Kayla Ali also said she was feeling the bumps and bruises after the event. “I was hit a lot and now have bruises, but it was well worth it,” said Ali.

Some students were surprised at how how loud the potato guns were when fired.

“It doesn’t hurt as bad as you think it would, based on how it sounds,” said SAO President Kayli Gallen.

Gallen and the other members of SAO’s Executive Committee expected around 30 people to participate in the event, but approximately 65 students joined in the fun throughout the course of the night.

Bongo Ball is an annual event at SFU and is conducted each spring semester. Bubble Soccer was first brought to campus this fall–it was so successful that it was added to the Bongo Ball event last weekend.

Many students felt the event helped them release some stress heading into midterms.
