Spring semester scheduling begins next Monday and continues throughout the week.
“The first step in preparing to schedule is to reach out to your advisor,” said Communications Professor Pat Farabaugh. “Look at the schedule of classes available on My.Francis and make a plan.”
Once students have met with their advisor and discussed possible course options, their advisor will “clear” the student to schedule.
“The most important thing is to make sure that you are progressing appropriately through your major paradigm,” said Farabaugh.
In addition to major courses, students must also complete courses in the University’s General Education Program.
Besides academic advisors, the staff members in the Center for Academic Success are also available to provide scheduling help to students.
“Registering for classes can be a bit tricky at first, but after doing it a few times it got easier,” said junior Kyle McClintock.
Students’ day/time to schedule is based on the number of credits they have completed at SFU.
“Listen to your advisor and make sure you do some research into each class you want to take,” said McClintock.
