English Professor Robin Cadwallader retired from Saint Francis earlier this month. Cadwallader taught for 27 years at the University. She began her career at the school in 1996.
She was a respected and involved professor who taught numerous courses, including Literature Theory, American Literature 1 and 2, and Research Writing.
“Teaching is a dance we do as people,” said Cadwallader, who also earned her bachelor’s degree from SFU. “We work together to create meaning and ideas.”
Cadwallader said she will miss being in the classroom.
“I will miss talking about literature and creating ideas with students the most. I have so many papers that I want to write and publish that came from conversations with students.”
Cadwallader will also be missed by many of her students.
“She has been one of the most dedicated and helpful professors I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning from,” said senior English major Mary Dugery.
Another senior English major, Michael Hickey, was also heavily influenced by Cadwallader.
“Dr. Cadwallader is the reason I chose to attend Saint Francis,” said Hickey.
“She is the reason why I currently major in English,” said junior Avery Beunier-Lucas. “I do not regret it.”
