There is something special about returning to Saint Francis in August. Driving to campus, you likely saw the green forests waiting to shed their leaves, fields of tall corn and the occasional patch of yellow goldenrod or purple aster.
For me, all of these sights – along with the large SFU billboard on Route 22 – bring back memories of the past three years on our campus among the pines.
It is good to be back with all of you. The spring and summer months have been exciting times for our Student Government Association. Here are a few highlights:
- Faculty Senate approved and Father Malachi signed a policy on timely feedback from faculty. This policy has gone into effect this semester. SGA had promoted a policy like this for nearly two years and we look forward to seeing it put into practice. If students ever have questions about feedback on graded assignments, please reach out to the SGA.
- Over the summer, we purchased a new ice maker that was installed in DiSepio. This is for all of campus to use and we hope that you will stop by and fill up to stay cool.
- All new student IDs have been updated to include the phone numbers of Campus Police and the Center for Well-Being. This was an SGA initiative last semester. Soon all student IDs will include this information.
This semester, the SGA hopes to increase communication efforts and continue to promote the general student interest. What does this mean? We want to hear from YOU and make YOUR SFU experience the best it can be!
You can email us at sga@francis.edu, find us on Instagram @sfu_sga, or stop by our office any day of the week in JFK. We look forward to hearing from you! Welcome back and have a great semester.
