Assistant Professor of Theology Daniel Waldow has published a new book titled “The Lion Has Conquered: An Introduction to Catholic Soteriology.”
The book was released last month.
Waldow said his book is primarily intended for undergraduate students and people training for the priesthood.
The books seeks to address several fundamental questions: What do we mean when we say Jesus is our Savior; what does Jesus save us from; and how does he save us?”
“The book seeks to answer these questions by looking at the Bible and what Catholics call sacred traditions,” said Waldow.
One of the unique elements of the book is that it looks at the three different liturgical forms of the Mass: the Traditional Latin Mass, the Novus Ordo and the Byzantine Catholic Liturgy.
“I wrote the book with the hope that I could hand it to anyone who wanted to know what Christians mean when they say that Jesus is our Savior,” said Waldow.
