Jason Kozak enters his first year at Saint Francis University as the head coach for women’s volleyball.

Kozak who graduated from SUNY Brockport, majored in physical education with a minor in coaching. He has been coaching for 21 years in which 15 years have been dedicated to the college level.

Kozak has had a great amount of success in his career. In 2012 at Charleston, Kozak helped to guide the Golden Eagles. Kozak’s Golden Eagles squad drastically improved its mark in 2013. From 2012 which was 16-16 the squad improved to 22-9.

When asked what makes him a successful coach Kozak said, “I think it’s kind of my philosophy trying to build programs the right way, and trying to set a good foundation.”

Kozak is excited to be a part of Saint Francis University because of the community and family feel. He is looking forward to the opportunity to take the program and rebuild it into a championship program and all the challenges that will be faced.

“I am very excited to learn from Coach Kozak,” said Red Flash women’s volleyball player Hannah kutny. “He is a great addition to the Women’s Volleyball program.”

The women’s volleyball team currently has three goals: compete hard, discipline and team chemistry.

“Little things day in and day out,” said Kozak.

Kozak says he sees a team that is willing to work hard and put in the time and effort to improve.

“I see a team hungry for coaching,” said Kozak.

When asked what he would tell the women’s volleyball team if he could tell them anything Kozak said, “Believe that we will become a championship program.”
