Saint Francis is a school that strives to push its students to become the best versions of themselves, whether that’s regarding school, sports or other extracurriculars.

Former SFU basketball standout and 2022 graduate Ramiir Dixon-Conover will continue to work toward this goal in Europe after recently signing a contract to play professionally in Switzerland for Spinelli Massagno.

“I am really excited to show my new coaches what I can bring to the team and hopefully earn a starting spot as point guard,” said Dixon-Conover.

A team captain last year and the starting point guard for the Red Flash the last two seasons, Dixon-Conover averaged 12.4 ppg in 2021-22. He led last year’s team in assists (3.64 apg) and steals (2.2 spg).

“I think he is going to bring Massagno a level of leadership, athleticism and basketball knowledge that he learned at Saint Francis,” said Red Flash assistant coach Eric Taylor.

SFU head men’s basketball coach Rob Krimmel also believes that Dixon-Conover possesses the skill set needed to enjoy success at the professional level.

“I am excited for Ramiir,” said Krimmel. “I am thankful for all that he did for our program during his time in Loretto, especially the last two years as he helped us navigate the Covid situation and some tough times on the court.

“His competitiveness, understanding of the game and skill will help his new team right away.”

While Dixon-Conover prepares for his first season of pro basketball, he is also looking beyond his playing days.

“I feel like being an agent might be the next step for me after playing overseas for a couple of years,” said the New Jersey native, “because I know what it’s like to be on the other side of things.”
